 Edzell is a small picturesque village with views to the foothills of the Grampian mountains. There are two hotels, local shops (including hairdresser, two coffee shops, newsagents, chemist, butcher, craft shop, grocer and baker), a garage/filling station, post office and a fish and chip shop, all within easy (under 5 minutes) walking distance. A frequent local bus also operates.
 The village has an 18 hole golf course, wih driving range and putting green and a bowling green - visitors welcome at both. The area is also popular for walking, fishing and shooting.
